Most performance problems aren’t really about capability. They’re created by the system people are working within, and are a consequence of habitual thinking and accidental interactions over time. Change Conversations

People are capable of handling change well. We’ve been doing it since birth. But we forget, and when change arrives, it can be unexpectedly hard to navigate.

Communicating the change is the easy part. The conversation that follows is less so. People feel uncertain. Resistance surfaces. There are more questions than answers. People rush to decide what the change means for them, and whether they still belong in what comes next. And it’s trust that’s a risk.

The Thinking Partnerships Retreat

It’s (usually) 2 days in person and 1 day online, to experience what it feels like to be truly thought with. And you’ll learn to create that for the people you lead, coach, and work with.

Who I am, and how I work

I’m Bev Holden. I’ve spent more than two decades working alongside leaders, teams and organisations who are navigating complexity, change, and the human challenges that come with leading people.

My work is grounded my own operational leadership experience, combined with Nancy Kline’s Thinking Environment®. It’s a methodology built on the insight that the quality of everything we do depends on the quality of our thinking. And that the quality of thinking depends on the conditions in which it happens.

I work one-to-one with senior leaders as a Thinking Partner/Executive Coach,  offering a kind of attention that is rare: unhurried, non-directive, and wholly focused on you.

I design and facilitate strategy days and team events. I help organisations change the culture of their meetings… and their cultures. I teach coaches and facilitators.

I’ve also co-created Cards for Clear Thinking; because sometimes a single word and an image, in the right moment, is all it takes to change the quality of thinking in a room.

Whatever the work, the belief underneath it is always the same: the wisdom you need is already in the room. My job is to create the conditions for it to surface. And when it does, what follows tends to be calmer, clearer, and more lasting than anyone expected.

Alongside my one-to-one and organisational work, I’ve co-created and tested an original card deck AKA the Cards for Clear Thinking. It’s a tactile, practical tool for having better conversations everyday. They’re designed for leaders, facilitators, coaches and teams who want to think well, together.
